Steampunk ARPG Crystalfall is Now in Early Access on Steam

CRG Studio announced that Crystalfall is now available in Early Access on Steam. This free-to-play online steampunk action RPG invites players to an evolving world of engaging combat, loot-driven builds, and competitive endgame challenges.

Crystalfall is set in a world that's been shattered by a mysterious asteroid impact. It brings players into a post-apocalyptic wasteland powered by volatile crystal energy. As mutated survivors, players get to delve into dangerous dungeons, harvest powerful crystal shards, and chase legendary loot in a game built around deep customization, endless progression, and theorycrafting-driven builds. The game is inspired by genre staples that include the likes of Path of Exile and Diablo 2.

Experimentation and Character Progression

In a statement, the studio shared that the game has been designed for those who love to build experimentation along with long-term character progression. The systems have been layered and interconnected through a big talent tree to allow for broad strategic direction.

Meanwhile, the skills themselves are lootable and have their own procedural skill trees. These skills can be customized even further through rarity upgrades and socketable modifiers known as Skill Crests. Weapons and armor feature alpha and omega affixes that reshape base item properties.

When it comes to characters, the game has what can be described as a flexible character framework. This lets players shape their combat identity, whether it's combining pistol-and-shield setups, wielding dual steampunk staffs, or even engineering entirely unexpected synergies between gear, skills, and passives.
