We finally have a launch date for the Stormforge. Roboto Games revealed that the highly anticipated fantasy open-world survival crafting game is launching in Early Access via Steam on November 10.
Updated Demo
While waiting for the launch, survival crafting players have the chance to take an early peek on what the game offers with the demo. The said demo is part of the October Steam Next Fest. Making things even better is that a major update has been released that not only addresses the feedback obtained from the community but also introduces chaos hurricanes that wreck havoc across the entire world.
The demo has players test the character creation with three available classes which are Warrior, Mage, and Ranger. They can explore solo or up to 8 players with the Whispering Vale that serves as the starting biome. They can also check out the Howling Woods biome that has poison infused storms. While they're exploring, players face a boss encounter and discover the Howling Woods biome’s first dungeons.
Stormforge offers a cooperative survival experience that supports as much as eight players. It's set in a world that's been overrun by magical storms. Each storm brings with it unique dangers like tornadoes that fling rocks, trees, and enemies into the air and dust storms that reduce visibility and damage the player, to name a few. The storms have unique mechanics that change how the game is played. They're brimming with powerful resources though filled with deadly creatures.
Players get to start as a warrior, mage, or ranger. However, they can unlock extra classes by defeating bosses. It’s up to the players on how they can customize the loadout of their characters. They can mix and match skills and abilities across all unlocked classes to come up with those unique playstyles. Each time players survive a storm or finish exploring a dungeon, it gives them new skills.
One of the exciting features of Stormforge is that it's going to have deep support for modding which is then combined with procedural world generation. This should let survival crafting players experience the genre in new and exciting ways. The game also allows explorers to easily play with a wide range of equipment, enemies, points of interest. Its rules in particular were created directly by the community. All of these are accessible without any separate downloads.
