Studio Looking for Supporters to Prelude Dark Pain with Upcoming Kickstarter Campaign

QUICKFIRE GAMES announced that Prelude Dark Pain is coming to Kickstarter on April 29. This tactical RPG is set in a dark fantasy world with the studio hoping to release it to Early Access next year.

While fans can check out what the game has to offer through the Kickstarter page, there's no information yet on the milestone. What we do know is that according to the studio, if both the Kickstarter campaign and the release of the game are successful, they'll be expanding the hero roster with more characters, for free. The studio has also revealed that none other than Japanese composer Kumi Tanioka (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Minecraft) is scoring the soundtrack.

Aside from these announcements, the first gameplay trailer for Prelude Dark Pain has been released and can be viewed here.

In a statement, studio co-founder Arturo Martín shared that they're excited to announce the crowdfunding campaign. He added that they can't wait to show more about this upcoming game in the Kickstarter campaign.

The World of Statera

The game takes place in the world of Statera. This is a territory that's been ravaged by the Dark Pain. In addition, it is the Order of the Ashen Crusade that rules the territory with blood and terror while praying to the Lord of Pain. There are still free people though who fight against the lurking evil.

Players take on the role of Soren, an ancient warrior transformed into a blacksmith. With the help of Tizon, Tammais, Maya, and other people fighting against oppression, he not only has to defeat his enemies but also the evil that awaits behind the veil's gaps. These tears in the veil were a result of the chaos caused by the Order of the Ashen Crusade. It is through these rifts that creatures of Pain break through their reality to invade the people of Statera.

Hand-Crafted Characters

Prelude Dark Pain offers players more than 20 playable heroes that they can mix and match to form their squad. Each of the heroes have unique skills and talents that can be customized and evolved by managing a settlement.
