Studio Releases New Featurette for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Independent video game developer Sandfall Interactive announced that it has released a new featurette for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This video documents the creation of the game's original soundtrack.

In the video, we get to see composer Lorien Testard detail his love when it comes to video game soundtracks. It appears that love started from a young age and now has channeled that talent and vision into the world of the game through an emotional and evocative score. The featurette also shows an interview with Alice Duport-Percier, the game’s singer and vocal composer. She shares additional insight into her creative process and the journey taken to bring the music of Expedition 33 to life. You can watch the featurette here.

In a statement, Lorien Testard shared that he is moved to be able to share the main theme of the game. He added that they recorded and filmed the orchestral version of Alicia during three unforgettable days. You can watch the Alicia (Official Music Video) here.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG that offers unique real-time mechanics. This results in the battles being more immersive and addictive than ever. Players get to explore a fantasy world that’s inspired by Belle Époque France where they fight against devastating enemies.

In this evolution of JRPGs, players can look forward to real-time actions that enhance the heart of turn-based combat. They get to craft unique builds for their Expeditioners that fit their playstyle through gear, stats, skills, and character synergies. There’s also an active dimension when it comes to combat especially with actions like dodge, parry, and counter in real time. They can also chain combos by mastering attack rhythms and target enemy weak points through a free aim system.

Digital pre-orders are now available. Players can get the physical Standard Edition of the game. Other versions include the premium Collector’s Edition of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for the PlayStation 5 which has the base game along with other goodies.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is launching on April 24 and to be available for the PC via Steam. The game is also released for consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
