Developer inXile Entertainment released a new trailer for Clockwork Revolution. It’s titled “Heist” and shows what players can expect from the game.
Industry & Ambition
The video shows us Avalon. While there's no question that Avalon is beautiful, it isn’t a utopia. It runs on industry and ambition with the city remaining to be polished up top by keeping its dirty hands underneath the table. Everything here has a cost though it's the folks at the bottom who usually pay for it.
The crime bosses in Avalon may request a foul-mouthed automaton in trade for their services. There are also places like the Burning House which offer a different kind of service.
Meet Morgan
Players take on the role of Morgan Vanette with their look, skills, and choices shaping them across the game. At the start of Clockwork Revolution, they can customize who Morgan is. However, through decisions made during the game, players eventually see who Morgan becomes.
Guiding them is Prentice, a flying automaton they meet very early in the game. She’s part observer and part companion. She joins the players on the adventure across the timescape. However, she is tied to how players end up with the Chronometer and becomes the guide across the branching realities they create. She has her own abilities and even her own skill tree.
The Chronometer
Speaking of the Chronometer, it’s a device that can help players unlock new abilities that directly let them manipulate time. One of the abilities is Displace, which is a power that lets players instantly reposition certain objects. The ability allows them to open paths, solve problems, or even turn the environment itself into a weapon.
Meet the Gang
The trailer also shows us fellow Rotten Row Hooligans during a heist gone wrong. These are Ulysses, Nazim, Erasmus, Hazel, and Anne. In the Tangle, having a gang that has your back isn’t optional but rather necessary. These aren’t companion characters that follow players around. Instead they have their own lives, their own stories, and plenty to lose especially when players start messing with time.
