Publisher Megabit and Norwegian developer Red Thread Games released a new trailer for Hello Sunshine. The game features a survival mystery that's set in the sun-scorched ruins of a corporate empire.
The trailer was released as part of the PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct. This new footage offers a deeper look at the wasteland that was left behind by Sunshine. It follows players as they scavenge crumbling settlements, salvage parts from downed war machines, and lean on her towering robot companion for shade, protection, and survival against the relentless heat.
This same trailer also shows how the relationship between human and machine begins to develop. The new scenes tease the robot growing more attentive to his human charge, culminating in a moment where he interacts with the player for the first time, and lifting her into his mechanical palm in a spectacular set-piece against the night sky.

Hello Sunshine puts players in the role of the final employee. Their mission is to reach the tower at the end of the road and then help decide the fate of what remains of this world. To survive the blistering heat and deadly sun, they'll need to walk in the shadow of a towering war machine. They can stay in the shade or risk exposure. Just remember that the further into the wasteland they venture, the greater the rewards available.
Then once the sun sets and the robot stops in order to charge, that means it's time to camp, craft new gear, and repair their mechanical guardian. However, the wasteland is freezing cold at night and they'll need to stay close to the robot to keep warm.
The Giant Robot
The wandering robot is more than a companion for the players as it also serves as their lifeline. It can be enhanced with improved sensors, defensive systems, and mechanical upgrades. Players can also add decals and personal touches.
At the beginning, the colossus barely acknowledges players. Over time though, the bond strengthens. Players can assist the robot with repairs, install upgrades, and unlock new ways to interact. In return, the metal giant helps players on their journey like locating secrets hidden in the desert, lifting them past obstacles, shielding them from threats, and fighting back against hostile war machines.
