Publisher 4Divinity and developer Sword Panda Limited released a new gameplay and story trailer for Sword Sage: Awakening. This upcoming action RPG is one that's rooted in Chinese mythology and folklore.
The trailer follows Sanniang as she travels across Jiannandao and faces formidable enemies. She'll need to vanquish the dangers that threaten her home by making use of her exceptional martial arts abilities, mystical artifacts, and a secret swordsman technique. Watch the trailer here.
Sword Sage: Awakening has players take on the role of Pei Sanniang, a novice disciple of the Yuangong Sect. She's tasked with confronting the thousand-year inherited burden by the leaking of the forbidden celestial books. She also has to face the various ominous forces lurking in the shadows.
The game immerses players in a fantastical ancient world affected by the Supreme White Gibbon Sage's celestial books revelation a thousand years ago. The world sees the release of eternal calamities along with monstrous infestations. The relentless disasters have resulted in the people of Guannandao showing their resiliency by forging mechanical wonders that turn those same disasters into triumphs.

As a Yaoguai Vanquisher from the Yuangong Sect, Sanniang fights supernatural threats plaguing Guannandao through the secret technique known as "Evade Cyan, Strike Red." She'll need to master fluid traditional swordsmanship that combines softness with strength as it seamlessly releases leg heavy attack, celestial artifacts, and Taoist spells. All of these to vanquish Yaoguais affected by the power of celestial books.
As a rookie Yaoguai Vanquisher, players have to confront undocumented horrors while at the same time unravel Zhiguai folkloric mysteries. They’ll also need to into colossal wonders. The game is pretty much a road-movie odyssey where Chinese mythology meets Sci-Fi.
Since the game is still in development, there's not much information yet on the system requirements. What we know so far is the minimum is Windows 10 64-bit. While HDD supported, SSD is recommended.
