Snail Games USA announced that the next major expansion for PixARK is coming soon to Steam. Dubbed as "Terracrypt," it's set in an expansive underground ruin where players need to contend with 12 unique new subterranean biomes that's full of strange new wonders.
Terracrypt invites players on an all new adventure which begins with a distress signal that pulls them deep into a cavernous grotto. This is where a mysterious power holds a secret centuries in the making. Under the ground, players get to explore 12 unique biomes, each one having its own atmosphere, hazards, and survival rules. Along the way they face off against 11 formidable new species. Waiting to be discovered in this sunken kingdom are new factions. Overall, each layer needs players to adapt.
Finally, in the underground lies a powerful enemy who can destroy the planet. To win the fight, players need to forge alliances and build coalitions.
Base Building
One of the new features being introduced in this upcoming expansion are the advanced new technologies. With this, players can design and build more creative bases than ever. The thing is, it's not all about building. That's because players are going to be able to build even life. They get the ability to engineer unique creatures and cultivate new flora through genetic modification.
In a statement, studio CEO Hai Shi shared that when it comes to PixARK, it sits at a rather interesting place as part of the ARK franchise. This is because the game was developed around a known gaming universe but having its own unique thing. While there have been themed expansions and packs released since the game came out in 2019, Terracrypt is unique since it's the first premium DLC pack. That's because it offers more on what made players love the game. That means more biomes, more creatures, and more hours of gameplay.
