Jagex released additional details on the next uncharted regions of Ashenfall in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. There are three new and mysterious areas which are planned to be released sometime this year.

The Madness of Zamorak

One of the new areas is Dowdun Reach, which is choking under the shadow of the God of Chaos Zamorak. At its heart lies a mountain fortress lost in the mists of long ago. Now it's haunted by the twisted and tormented Black Knights.

Dowdun Reach brings with it the new skill Fishing for players to max out. Meanwhile, the overall level cap for each skill in the game is being increased to 99, with content being retroactively added to existing skills in future content updates. Dowdun Reach opens at the end of March.

Fire of Fuzan

Up next is the vast desert region of the Umbral Sands and with it the blistering heat from the sun bearing down upon baking ground. It features a dangerously dynamic environmental system as players who are exposed to its rays are drained of health. making use of shade and the time of day is critical for survival. However, nighttime also brings with it new dangers for players to face.

Once the Umbral Sands goes live, it's set to introduce a selection of iconic RuneScape items to the game. These include Adamant tier gear, Red Dragonhide, and Yew Bows and Staffs. The Umbral Sands arrive at the game this summer.

Rage of Kuldra

Finally, there's the Scorned Wilderness. It brings the Kuldra Saga to a stunning conclusion as players face off against Kuldra, the God Eater. In a statement, the studio shared that this area is expected to launch in September 2027.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is set in the forgotten continent of Ashenfall and a time where dragons have awoken. To survive against the threat of the Dragons, players need to level up and arm themselves before facing these threats. They'll have to follow the trail of destruction and uncover the mysteries of the continent in order to learn not only how to confront the dragons but more importantly how to overcome them.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is now on Steam Early Access and priced at $29.99.
