Studio Reveals Planned Improvements for Atelier Yumia

KOEI TECMO GAMES revealed some of the plans in place for Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land before its full release. This comes after the studio reviewed the feedback received from the demo version.

Camera Behavior

One of the issues raised was on camera behavior. The studio said that they plan to add options so that players can choose a comfortable play environment especially when it comes to camera work and effects.

They’ll be continuing to review settings and allow players to skip certain effects/scenes and focus on “camera behavior at the end of battles.” An update that addresses this matter is planned to be released for the near future.

Usability Improvements

The studio also shared that they’re working to have display instructions for some of the less obvious operations. The plan is also to adjust the feel of character controls. All of these are to be addressed through a series of phased updates.

Additional Optimization

Finally, the studio said that they’re working on further optimization for some platforms. It’s going to be addressed through phased updates, with some improvements expected to be included in an update soon.

In a post, the studio assured everyone that they’ve committed to making improvements to the game to make sure that everyone has a “more enjoyable experience.”

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land tells the story of the Aladissian Empire. It once thrived on a certain continent after having achieved remarkable development made possible through alchemy. Because of it, the empire managed to keep other nations at bay. However, it met its end due to a sudden and mysterious cataclysm. Several centuries later, Alchemy is now known as a “dangerous art that brings destruction” and considered to be “evil” and “taboo.” In this now forbidden and perilous land, Yumia Liessfeldt learns that she hails from a family of alchemists and starts to question many things.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is launching March 21 and to be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It's also going to be released for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, which is a first in the history of the franchise. Pre-purchase for the game are now available.
