Studio Reveals Plans for Fate of the Vaal Leagues in Path of Exile 2

Atziri’s Temple to continue in the game even with the upcoming update.

A new update is releasing in Path of Exile 2 this May 29. While there's going to be a lot of new content to be added, there is also some that's going away or ending. One of these are the Fate of the Vaal Leagues

In a post, developer Grinding Gear Games revealed that Fate of the Vaal leagues are ending May 25. However, all characters and their items are going to be migrated to the Standard or Hardcore Early Access leagues. This means that there won't be any wipes and players can continue using their characters in the Standard or Hardcore Early Access leagues.

Atziri’s Temple

One of the features that are staying is Atziri’s Temple. The studio shared that it's remaining as a core mechanic in the game. More details are planned to be released when the full 0.5.0 patch notes come out May 21.

Vaal Changes

Some of the other changes being worked on include being able to find Vaal beacons in Act Three. Once six of them are activated, it unlocks the Temple in the present. Meanwhile, completing more beacon encounters in "Doryani’s Contingency" Interlude would allow players to the Temple in the past.

Once players reach the Endgame, they can encounter Vaal Beacons in maps. The level of the Temple is going to be based on the area level where the crystals were collected. This means that in order to open high-tier Temples, players need to run high-tier maps.

There's also going to be a new region on the Atlas that has guaranteed Vaal Beacon encounters in every map. Players able to complete this area obtain points for the Temple Atlas Tree with many new bonuses for the Temple itself.

Room Changes

Rooms can now be up to Tier 4 after unlocking this ability on the Temple Atlas Tree. This should give players more specialization especially when it comes to particular room types while at the same time encourage more interesting temple layouts. Reward Rooms granted from the console after defeating the Architect have been significantly improved and it now offers more varieties to unlock in addition to upgrading the rewards of all the existing ones.
