Studio Reveals Plans for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2: Heart of Chornobyl

Developer GSC Game World has revealed plans for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2: Heart of Chornobyl. In particular, the studio shared what players can expect from the game for the second quarter of 2025.

The game was launched in November 2024 and since then the studio said in a post that they've been looking into the feedback from the players and aligning it with the vision for the game. For the first quarter of 2025, the main focus was on addressing the big issues faced. This is while the studio released two major updates along with multiple hotfixes.

That said, to make sure that all players are on track with what's being worked on for the game, there's going to be quarterly updates. This means every three months, players get the full scoop on what’s coming. The patch notes then confirm when it’s live in-game.

Second Quarter Plans

There are a lot of new things in the works and set to come out in the second quarter. The development team has managed to work on critical A-Life fixes along with stabilization and visual improvements.

One of the features being looked into is the Beta Mod SDK Kit. The initial plan is to have a closed beta with mod makers to test this ModKit. There's also going to be a Mod Guide.

Then there is the improvement to the AI. In particular, the goal is to have smarter human combat like being better at cover or flanking. Updates are also planned for mutants so players should keep an eye out for that.
