Studio Reveals Post-Launch Roadmap for Borderlands 4

Gearbox Software officially revealed details of what's being planned for Borderlands 4. Details of the post-launch roadmap was shared during the studio's panel at PAX Australia.

For the period October 23 to November 6, players are going to experience the Horrors of Kairos. There's going to be new legendary weapons, new cosmetics, and even a new weather variant.

Then on November 20, the studio is releasing the Bounty Pack 1. Inside it are new missions and boss plus new legendary gear. There's also a Vault Hunter style, ECHO-4 Drone skin, and vehicle. The pack also has a Vault Card which comes with 24 Cosmetics and four pieces of Rerollable Gear.

Before the year ends, players are treated to a lot of free content starting with the Invincible Boss I: Bloomreaper. There's also a high-level boss variant and arena along with new legendary weapons and even additional ultimate Vault Hunter mode level.

2026 Content

In the first quarter of 2026, the studio is launching the Bounty Pack 1. After that Story Pack 1 is then released. It brings with it a lot of new and exciting content.

Other plans for 2026 include the release of two additional Bounty Packs and a Story Pack.

In a post, the studio shared that they want to thank the players who started their adventure in Borderlands 4. They went on to say that the journey is just beginning and there's a lot of "awesome paid and free content" being released soon.

Borderlands 4 introduces intense action along with badass Vault Hunters plus billions of wild and deadly weapons to an all-new planet ruled by a ruthless tyrant. Players take on the role of one of four new Vault Hunters who crash into Kairos looking for wealth and glory. They get to wield powerful Action Skills and customize their build with deep skill trees and dominate enemies with dynamic movement abilities.

Borderlands 4 is a mayhem-fueled looter shooter, jam-packed with billions of weapons, deadly enemies, and intense co-op action. Borderlands 4 was launched for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to be released on October 3.
