Grinding Gear Games recently revealed the release schedule for Content Updates in Path of Exile 2. In particular, major updates for the game are planned to be released every four months. Since the last one came out in April, it means that one should be available in August and followed by December.
Leagues Arriving
As part of the big updates, the studio is introducing a new League. This is a way for players to experience the new content and at the same time get access to exclusive content only available in the league. Leagues are planned to contain a new combat mechanic, new rewards, new crafting options and new bosses.
During the league, players can expect to see new content appearing in every area and thus give them a new experience. Once league ends, the development team then works into how the content is integrated from league to the base game.
In addition, once the league is finished, all characters and items are transferred to the Standard leagues where players can continue to play them. The thing is, the studio shared in a post that a lot of players prefer "to play in the next league."
In a post, the studio assured everyone that the content updates are, of course, going to include a lot of new things for the base game. Since Path of Exile 2 remains to be in Early Access, there's a lot of content that's still being worked on.
For now, 0.3.0 is planned to come out on August 29. It's a little late in the month but considering that it's a big update, the studio shared that they had to work around a few constraints.
