Warhammer Blood Bowl - The Official Video Game·News·October 13, 2026

Studio Reveals Warhammer Blood Bowl is Releasing Soon

A demo is planned to be released at the end of October.

Developer Cyanide announced that Warhammer Blood Bowl is launching in the fourth quarter of 2026. This is a new digital version of none other than Games Workshop’s legendary and hugely popular tabletop game. It's going to be available for both PC and consoles.

The studio revealed that not only is the Steam page for the game gone live, but that the Playtest has also started. The open single-player and multiplayer test is available to all fans of the most brutal fantasy sport of all time. The Playtest offers players their first taste of the new chapter in the franchise.

For the Playtest, here’s what players can expect:

  • Access to Warhammer Blood Bowl and the most recent tabletop ruleset
  • New 7 vs 7 Rumble Mode
  • A revamped tutorial
  • A revamped and streamlined UI
  • A new customizable homepage
  • An improved AI

The studio went on to say that by the end of this month, a demo of Warhammer Blood Bowl is going to be available.

Two Teams

The demo should give players the chance to take two brand-new teams onto the pitch. The first are the Tomb Kings. These are ancient rulers who return from the grave to reclaim their glory. Their armies may have crumbled to dust, but their thirst for victory remains very much alive. The second are Bretonnians. These are the knights, squires, and peasants, who take to the pitch in the name of honor, glory and the occasional extremely violent tackle.

Talking about the game, Slitherine Publishing Director Marco Alessandro Minoli shared in a statement that with the success of both Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector and Warhammer 40,000: Gladius, they're excited to launch the new digital version of Blood Bowl. After all, this is one of the most popular and widely played games of Games Workshop. Minoli added that when it came to Warhammer Blood Bowl, they wanted to have something that was more complete, polished, enjoyable, and offered a streamlined experience. When it came to the Playtest, Minoli revealed that it's a testament to just how much both Slitherine and Cyanide listened to the community and worked together with players to have the best digital Blood Bowl experience possible.

Warhammer Blood Bowl is releasing for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation and Xbox.
