Studio Says Stormforge is Coming to Early Access Later this Year

Roboto Games announced that Stormforge is launching into Early Access later this year. This cooperative survival experience supports as much as eight players and is set in a world overrun by magical storms. Each storm presents unique dangers that include tornadoes that fling rocks, trees, and enemies into the air. There are also dust storms that not only lower visibility but also damage the player.

Unique Mechanics

As mentioned, the game is all about storms. In particular, these storms have unique mechanics that change how the game is played. These same storms are full of powerful resources but they're also filled with deadly creatures. Players need to fight, craft, and survive as a warrior, mage, ranger or any combination of these. They'll have the ability to unlock character classes and unique skills and abilities.

Support for Modding

One of the exciting features of Stormforge is that it's going to have deep support for modding which is then combined with procedural world generation. This should let survival crafting players experience the genre in new and exciting ways. The game also allows explorers to easily play with a wide range of equipment, enemies, points of interest. Its rules in particular were created directly by the community. All of these are accessible without any separate downloads.

Explore and Fight

The game invites players into the vast procedurally-generated world of Sorana. It offers endless islands of secrets, treasures, enemies, and environments. Here, they'll need to find the source of darkness that causes the storms.

In the fight against sinister foes who are draining the land of its lifeforce, players can wield various melee, ranged, and even magical weapons. However, it's important to tread carefully since there are dangerous enemies able to draw strength from the storm. It's not all fighting as players can obtain critical magical elements inside the storms in order to craft epic weapons, armor, and structures. They'll also need to buld up their base to withstand the power of the storms.

Stormforge is being developed by Roboto Games. This small scrappy studio is made up of plucky game industry vets who, despite common wisdom, can’t seem to stop making games. The team itself has an average of 12 years of games industry experience. This isn’t the game’s first title as it came out with ZipZapPlay back in 2007. It was later sold to PopCap games in 2011.
