Summoners War Collab with TEKKEN 8 Begins July 30

Com2uS announced that a collaboration between Summoners War and TEKKEN 8 starts July 30. Pre-registration for this upcoming collab is now live.

As a quick background, TEKKEN 8 is the latest addition in the Tekken series. This title has sold more than 59 million copies around the world. The game features 38 characters that feature intricately detailed muscle animations as they fight on stages full of destructive gimmicks.

Collab Characters

While the collab is still a few days away, the studio has already given us a peek into the five Collab Characters who are Jin Kazama, Paul Phoenix, Nina Williams, Hwoarang, and Heihachi Mishima. All characters feature voiceovers for summoning and skill activations. In addition, players can preview the in-game skill effects of Jin Kazama ahead of release.

There's also gameplay footage of three minigames available which pay homage to Super Action Hero 2. Players can also check out the special collaboration illustrations that showcases both Summoners War Monsters and TEKKEN 8 Characters.

Teaser Video

A teaser video of the upcoming collab has been released. It features Jin Kazama, Hwoarang, Paul Phoenix, and Nina Williams, appearing in sequence and fighting against Summoners War's Vritra, Lora, Velajuel, and Feng Yan.

Players able to watch the teaser video can leave their Summoner name and a comment with their expectations. Those who do can receive a participation reward that includes a Mystical Scroll. They can also fill-up and submit the entry form to be eligible to win different prizes. A total of 100 Excellence Prize winners are to be awarded with 5 Mystical Scrolls. Then the 10 Grand Prize winners get to receive an Artamiel Gaming Mouse and additional in-game rewards.

The game was released to mobile platforms as Summoners War: Sky Arena in June 2014. It was developed by Com2uS and since its release has been downloaded more than 200 million times with earnings amounting to at least $2.1 billion. A sequel was released in 2021 and another one in 2022.

This version for the PC on Steam is pretty much like the mobile one. Summoners War has players experience tactical RPG play through various monsters, each one having unique skills. Overall, there are more than 1500 different monsters grouped in five different attributes which are Fire, Water, Wind, Light, and Dark. The goal is for you to collect as many monsters as you can and try to win battles using your own decks.
