Sunderfolk by Secret Door is now available on Steam. The game is inspired by gathering around a table with friends and was made with a couch co-op experience in mind. It has up to four players go on an adventure across the magical and dangerous Sunderlands.
Sunderfolk puts forth the notion that the best adventure is something that's meant to be shared. It's a game where players experience the adventure together and have their mobile device become the controller. While a mobile app is also needed to play the game, there's nothing to worry about since the app is free. The app is available on both iOS and Android.
With the mobile device as a controller mechanic , one gamer can share the adventure with friends for free. It’s even possible for a host to launch the game and then have the three players join remotely for free through Steam Remote Play Together.
Rebuild the Village of Arden
The game takes players to the village of Arden, which grew around the remnant of a magical substance that’s known as brightstone. However, unknown forces from lands outside have started to threaten the very existence of the community. Between quests, players return to Arden village to upgrade vendors and obtain new items and equipment. They can also befriend townsfolk for additional rewards.
Six Unique Heroes
One difference Sunderfolk has with other titles in the same genre is that it reimagines traditional RPG classes. As such, players can look forward to meeting the likes of the Arcanist, Bard, Berserker, Pyromancer, Ranger or Rogue. Each one comes with their own playstyle. That's not all since it's also possible to customize the strengths of the characters through Skill Cards. There are also Trinkets and Weapons that can help craft the build of the characters on a quest-to-quest basis.
Tactical Combat
In the game, each player takes their turn one at a time by choosing one of their Skill Cards in order to determine the actions of their character. Enemies lurk around every corner and each one has their own abilities and strategies. They're sure to challenge the party who needs to change the approach from one encounter to the next.
Sunderfolk is available on Steam for $49.99.
