Nintendo has announced the return of the first-ever Mario RPG, now overhauled for the Nintendo Switch. The iconic Super Mario RPG is now available for fans old and new to explore. Players can gather a group of unlikely allies and embark on a mission to restore the wish-granting Star Road, meeting quirky characters and engaging in turn-based battles along the way.
The plot follows the familiar storyline of Bowser kidnapping Princess Peach. However, his plans get thwarted when Exor the Giant Sword crashes into his keep. Now, the King Koopa and Mario must work together to stop the sinister Smithy Gang. The adventure features the jumping hero Mario, big bad Bowser, the sensitive but determined Mallow, the mysterious puppet-like Geno, and the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom – Peach. Players can take on enemies in turn-based battles, timing their attacks precisely to deal extra damage or shield themselves from attacks.
Super Mario RPG is available now on the Nintendo eShop. Players can earn €3.00 worth of Gold Points to use towards their next Nintendo eShop purchase. The game is also available for purchase from the My Nintendo Store, with bonus items such as an Acrylic Standee and Keyring included. A bundle including the game plus a Pin Set is also available.
