For the studio, the game is a result of their love when it comes to traditional computer role-playing. It features traditional role-playing elements while making sure to combine it with new elements. In particular, Broken Roads is able to merge classic RPG element with truly innovative features to give players that unique as well as customizable gameplay experience. The addition of the new role-playing elements also depth and complexity to the mechanics, intriguing moral choices, and immersive narrative arcs.
There is also a classless system which allow for almost unlimited options when it comes to character development. The wide range of option result in players being to shape skills and abilities to match their playstyle.
Moral Compass
One interesting feature to look forward to is the game's original morality system known as the Moral Compass. While the idea of good and evil is not new especially in role-playing games, this morality system goes way beyond that. That's because it focuses instead on the philosophical leaning of the character, and this let players shape the world view of the protagonist not just unique ways but also nuanced ones.
For example, a character can prioritize the greater good and lean towards utilitarianism. That means the decisions made are based on the overall benefits that society can obtain even if it means sacrificing individual lives. But as each tough decision is made, the Moral Compass of the characters can shift. Overall, the morality system allow snot just for a protagonist to be created but one that has a unique moral identity which can influence the journey and relationships.
