Swords Added as New Weapon Class in The First Descendant

A new update has been released for The First Descendant. The highlight is the introduction of Swords as a new weapon class for the game. There’s also dedicated modules and External Components that players can use to further improve the weapons.

Balanced Melee Weapon

There are two unique swords added to the game. The first is Shadow, which has a unique ability known as “Shadow Slash.” How it works is that players have to press the Special Attack button to charge the weapon with energy. Then once the weapon has been charged, they then need to use Shadow Dash to dash forward and deal damage.

After dashing, they can then wield the weapon consecutively to use “Shadow Slash” and deal damage. The damage and dashing distance increase by the amount of energy charged in the weapon.

Power Melee Weapon

The second unique weapon is the Deus Ex Manus which has the unique ability ”Liberation.”

How it works is that on a successful Normal Attack, they can consume MP to deal Additional Damage. Then it grants Liberation and Resistance to self. Then while holding Liberation, the Special Attack is activated. Pressing the Special Attack button while holding Liberation removes the effect and the character strikes the weapon down to deal damage. Damage increases as the number of Liberation stacks increase.

These can be obtained by clearing scenario missions within the game or in the World Missions where cooperation is crucial and battles with huge bosses.
