The action-adventure RPG Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is now available. It can be accessed for the PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Windows Launcher. It's also out on all mobile platforms.
For now, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is available in the regions of the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East. Players in Asia need to with the launch timing set to be announced sometime later this year.
Inspired by the Novels
The game takes inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire novels written by George R. R. Martin. What this means is that players have the chance to encounter legendary creatures across the game. For example, they can encounter the fan-favorite Drogon who appears as a Field Boss. There are also features brought to life for the very time in both an original and captivating manner. These include the likes of Ice Spiders, Stormhorn Unicorns, Ironbeak Griffins, and Red Cockatrice.
A New Story
What makes Game of Thrones: Kingsroad stand out is that it offers a new story which players uncover as they take on the role of a new character. In particular, it's someone who has become an heir to House Tyre, a small noble house in the North. They can choose from three classes which are inspired by iconic roles within the original series. These are the Knight, Sellsword, or Assassin.
The game is able to intricately recreate the unique combat mechanics and skills of each class while at the same time improving the depth and enjoyment of class-based strategic combat. Players also engage in battles that align with their preferred style.
Explore Westeros
That's not all since the game brings the continent of Westeros to life with remarkable detail and scale. This is a result of extensive research by the development team to faithfully recreate fan-favorite locations from the series and even the unseen lands.
Fans can explore the seven kingdoms that compose Westeros in the vast open world as they discover vivid landscapes, massive cities, backwater towns, and untamed wilderness, to name a few. They also experience the uncompromising lives of the people that inhabit them.
The game allows players the ability to roam the various iconic regions like ‘King’s Landing’, the capital of the continent of Westeros, the stronghold ‘Castle Black’, located at the Wall, and ‘Highgarden’, which basks in a warm climate. They can even check out the massive icy ‘Wall’ that stretches along the northern border of the Kingdom of the North.
As they explore the different areas of the game world, players encounter familiar characters from the series such as Jamie Lannister, Lord Varys, Queen Mother Cersei, Stannis Baratheon, Olenna Tyrell, and more. It's truly an immersive journey across Westeros.
