A new update for Once Human is set to introduce a major overhaul to the Class system. In particular, the Beastmaster class is being fully revamped with the addition of the Beast Riding ability.
The Beast Riding ability allows Beastmasters to directly summon animals and even mount eligible ones. This new ability is centered around summoning, riding, commanding, evolving, and trading.
Riding Rules
With the new ability, it's important to consider the riding rules. There are two types with the first one being Bareback Riding. How it works is that when Beastmasters encounter unoccupied wild animals in the wild or even summoning animals without saddles, they can mount them through interactions. The catch is that bareback riding consumes a certain amount of character Stamina. That means when stamina is insufficient, bareback riding won't be possible. In addition, animals that don't have saddles resist the Beastmaster and while mounted, can't use special abilities.
With Saddle Riding, Beastmasters can ride animals in a stable manner. They can use saddle items from their backpack, drag the saddle onto the animal, modify the gear in the animal's details, or directly equip the saddle while the animal is anesthetized.
Animal Mount Ability
For Beastmasters, the special ability of animals can be used while mounted with a saddle. Non-Beastmaster classes though can't use animal special abilities or benefit from their effects. Animals that currently supported for mounting include the Deer, Boar, Bear, and Wild Buffalo. While it's not much, there's a plan to expand the types of animals that can be mounted in the future.
It's worth noting that wild animals don't possess active/passive abilities by default. It's only Beastmasters that can utilize the abilities when mounted with a saddle.
