We finally know when the Burrowbuck is coming out of the hat. Studio Wildcard announced that this floofy little guy arrives in ARK: Survival Ascended on May 19.
The thing about the Burrowbuck is that once players earn it trust, the map becomes their playground. They can lead it to a false entrance and let it do the heavy lifting. One interesting thing about this creature is that it tries to avoid the brute force approach and instead chooses to dictate the terms of a fight. Read more about the Burrowbuck here.
In a post, the studio shared that the Burrowbuck is bringing a little folklore-flavored chaos to ARK: Survival Ascended as part of the Fantastic Tames Season 1 pack, priced at $9.99. Once the pack becomes available, the studio said that they'll also be revealing the design of the two remaining creatures.
Inactive Server
In addition to the announcement of a new creature, the studio also provided information about the status of its actions on the inactive servers. The studio revealed that they've started the process of sunsetting a selection of the game's inactive official servers. The goal is to make sure that they can always deliver to players the "best experience possible." The studio went on to say that the reason why there are official servers is because it is a way for the community to play together without the need to host their own.
What actually happened is that when new content is released, more servers are made available to match peak user capacity. Eventually, these same servers turn into "ghost towns" as players later drop off as they wait for the next major content release. Check out the list of servers being closed here.
