The Confrontation Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live. This is the final major update to be released as part of the game's second year. It brings with it a lot of new content to the game along with two new DLCs.
One of the highlights of the Confrontation Update is the introduction of two new PvP arenas to the game. These are the Sanctum on Avarax and the Facility on Demerium. With this, the total number of playable maps is increased to seven. Meanwhile, those able to take on Eternal War matches as well as complete Datavault challenges get the chance to earn Accolades and cosmetics rewards.
Players need to keep an eye out for a new Terminus enemy as the Thousand Sons’ Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer joins the fight. Players can encounter him in in Operations that involve Chaos and throughout Siege waves.
On the flip side, players can improve their chances of surviving, and maybe even winning, with the addition of six Heroic weapon variants. These include the new Melta Rifle variant, a new Chainsword, a Bolt Carbine Combi-Flamer, a new Power Fist with integrated Meltagun, a Deathwatch-inspired Stalker Bolt Rifle, and Executioner’s Axe variant for the Thunder Hammer. ALl these can be obtained by spending Accolades.
Making things even sweeter are the new three Heroic armor pieces. Players get the chance to earn the new Ultramarines pauldron and two Deathwatch cosmetics.
New DLCs
As mentioned, two new DLCs are made available with this latest update. The Salamanders Champion Pack 2 brings with it the full-body Armor skin for the Heavy class along with a Multi-Melta skin that honors the warriors of Nocturne. Meanwhile, the Raptors Cosmetic Pack offers a collection of five armor pieces that honor their iconic stealth capabilities. These include a helmet, left pauldron, right pauldron, breastplate, and a cape that's available in two variants.
