The Cult Classic RPG OFF Arrives to Steam and the Switch

Mortis Ghost and Fangamer announced that OFF is now available for the PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch. This brings the cult classic RPG to modern platforms. This may be a reworked version but fans should be happy to know that it remains true to the game's original vision.

The digital version for OFF that's available on Steam and the Nintendo eShop is priced at $14.99. However, there's going to be a week-long 15% off discount offered for a limited period on both platforms. A physical edition is planned to be released for the Switch sometime in the first quarter of 2026.

Quick Background

OFF was first released to critical acclaim way back in 2008. An English translated version came out by 2011. Since that time, it was considered as a gem among the indie adventure RPGs. That's because for almost two decades, it has become more than a game. OFF has in fact been a creative spark for a lot of indie developers and has shaped the tone, style, and ambition of some of the most well-known indie RPGs.

A Sacred Mission

OFF puts players in control of the Batter as he seeks to purify an uncanny and hopeless world that’s haunted by spectres. He’s guided by a cryptic and grinning cat called The Judge. As players move the Batter across increasingly confused zones, they’ll need to reckon with the Batter’s mission themselves.

Key features of the game are:

• Uncover the secrets of an uncanny world and command a being known as The Batter.

• Crush the spectres with the help of an all-new battle system and well-timed critical hits.

• The useful new “help” system hints at where to go next or what to do.

• Find a rollercoaster too scary to ride, a library terrorized by a page thief, and a mall where escape seems to be impossible.

• All-new areas and bosses designed by the game’s creator Mortis Ghost.

• Purify the Queen’s Zones so her citizens can get back to work.
