The wait is finally over as the Cursed War begins in Hell Clock. This new expansion is the biggest update released for the game. It features a dark fantasy prequel campaign along with a complete endgame overhaul.
One of the new features introduced as a new story act with the Paraguayan War Prequel Campaign. It invites players to explore a haunting and grim-dark fantasy retelling of South American history. This new act also has them uncover the tragic origins of Pajeú.
Other features of the expansion are:
- New Maps & Biomes: There are at least 10 challenging new biomes for players to explore and fight their way through.
- New Unique Items & Relies: Get your hands on more than 80 gears that've been designed to unlock those game-breaking synergies and screen-clearing combos.
New Endgame System
The new expansion extends the adventure even further with the new Endgame Systems that's sure to test the build of the players. The 'Endless Nightmares' feature ever-changing Dungeons that players create by making their choice of Nightmare Shards. Basically, it has players choose Zones and then accumulate Penances and Rewards as they progress. There's a total of 16 Tiers for players to go through and there are increasing dangers though it brings better rewards. For the Zones, there's 12 and the list is available here.
Hell Clock is set in the 19th century and focuses on Canudos, a region that became a refuge for thousands. However, when a new Republic entered the picture, there were those who were not happy. Those who defied this new government faced brutal retaliation which left 25,000 dead.
The game has players take on the role of Pajeú, a warrior who is fighting to rescue the soul of The Counselor, his fallen mentor. Then with each descent, time warps and their power grows as they confront the dark forces that claimed the head of their mentor and even trapped his soul. As they race across hell, every second counts as players fight the undead forces of their oppressors. They'll need to risk going even deeper to get their hands on powerful loot and at the same time face the nightmarish incarnations of those who sought to bury the truth.
