The next chapter of Infinity Nikki begins with the release of update Version 1.8. Dubbed as the "Danqing Season," it's inspired by the timeless elegance of traditional Chinese painting.
The term "Danqing" comes from an ancient Chinese word for painting and refers to the red and blue-green pigments that's used in classical art. This is why the new update celebrates color, craftsmanship, and of course, the spirit of cultural artistry.
The update introduces players to a new adventure where Nikki and Momo follow strange ripples in the Sea of Stars that eventually lead them to a mysterious scroll and an island untouched by time. Danqing Island itself is a dreamlike and secluded realm. Nikki goes into a parallel world guided by the Seer. Here there are mist-veiled mountains, bamboo groves, and crystalline lakes, that all come together to form a living ink painting. However, under all these serene landscapes lies a growing mystery. It seems villagers have started to vanish and it is only by discovering the island’s secrets can Nikki hope to bring them home
In addition to enjoying the new main story, players can also take on various mini-games and immersive activities. They can play traditional Weiqi (Go) for example or simply drift lazily on bamboo rafts. Players can also snap photos with aesthetic filters that's rooted in classical Chinese design and possibly collect elegant costumes inspired by historic fashion.
The Danqing Season runs from July 30 to September 2.
