A new threat arrives this month in Marvel Contest of Champions as the Empire of Doom Saga begins this November. Get ready to experience something new and exciting.
This new event sees Doon's control of The Battlerealm. There's a lot happening and basically it's The Contest of Champions like players have never seen before. Part 1 of the Empire of Doom Saga introduces a new motion comic that features voice actor Matthew Mercer. Part 2 meanwhile arrives in December. Watch the official motion comic here.
In terms of gameplay, the event sees Champions band together through an Alliance in an attempt to fight against Doom. Joining an Alliance is the only way to obtain access to special Solo Objectives, a 28-Day Login Calendar, and Doom’s Alliance Super Season Realm Event. There are various activities where players can get rewards. These include:
Beast's Bounty Mission [November 18 - December 9]: Help Beast round up those in The Contest still suffering from delusions of Doom’s greatness. Take on Bounty Missions to face off against challenging Champions and get rewards.
Side Quest - Doom Event Tower [November 4 - November 18]: Doom has recruited members of Thunderbolts, The Avengers, and more, to train against the Summoner, only then will they be worthy of a spar against Doom himself. Be careful though, Doom has players in a race against time in this Event Tower.
Get Ready for Sieges
There's also what's known as Sieges, which run from November 2 to January 4. It sees players fight alongside fellow Summoners to take down formidable Defenders by chipping away at their immense Health Pools. There are two modes and these are:
The first is Overlord Sieges, which are handcrafted tentpole encounters that unlock dynamically when the community hits key weekly milestones, challenging the community to unite against a premier threat. The second is Gatekeeper Sieges, which are accessible and continuously rotating mini-bosses drawn from a weighted rarity pool that spawn immediately after one concludes, giving players a frequent, low-barrier power fantasy to clear health bars between major events. Limited to only 4-Star Champions.
Marvel Contest of Champions invites players to step into The Battlerealm and experience epic 1v1 combat. It features various Super Heroes and Villains from across the Marvel Universe. The game was first released on mobile platforms through iOS and Android. Then in June 2025 it was made available for PC and fully optimized for mouse, keyboard, and controller on the big screen.
