The Eventide invites everyone to a supernatural mystery adventure. The game has players guide agents from the Eventide Agency through paranormal investigations across a neon-soaked cityscape.
The game is being developed by Studio Reset. This new studio was formed by veteran developers Kaelin Lavallee, Kris Schoneberg, and Francis Lacuna. The Eventide is their first title.
The game invites everyone to explore planes of existence that are adjacent to our own. This is unknown to most, except to The Eventide Agency. It's a covert team of investigators that has been tasked with monitoring, studying, and, when necessary, intervening in supernatural events. The thing is, while no two events are the same, neither are the investigations.
One day, after receiving an anonymous tip, the agents open a case file on what initially appears to be a routine haunting. But one case quickly becomes many and scattered across the city. Each with a different story and brings with it a different truth.
Choose & Assign
Each case in The Eventide starts with a question and that is, "who should investigate?" It's important to remember that choice matters. There's a backlog of unexplained incidents waiting for attention. Each day, players choose one case and assign two agents to investigate it. Every agent sees the world differently and it is that difference which determines what the case reveals.
Explore & Investigate
In the game, the city doesn't reveal its secrets easily. The chosen agents investigate each scene, from rain-slicked city alleys to dusty libraries and abandoned radio stations, through unique abilities. These same agent move across investigations differently. They're drawn to different details and even ask different questions. Every clue they uncover adds to a shared case notebook, which in turn builds a picture that neither agent could have assembled alone.
Deduce & Resolve
The agents return with clues, which are fragments of something that happened, or something that still lingers. Once the evidence has been collected, it's up to the players to piece it together. They'll have to fill in the gaps of a case report. Each resolved case opens new leads, new locations, and new questions. The truth is never lost and persists, in this world, or another.
The Eventide is currently in development and to be released for the PC via Steam. No release date has been announced.
