Update 1.3 for Drova - Forsaken Kin is officially out. Dubbed as "The Flesh Rises," it may well be the biggest change to arrive for the game since it was released.
One of the interesting features is the Old Magic. Even before Rune Magic of the Bygones was discovered, there was actually Magic in Drova. The Divinities shared their Runes with some of their closest human beings which as a result let them cast Magic in a natural way. Now it's up to the players to find the hidden secrets of the original inhabitants of Drova and discover their magic.
With this change, developer Just2D shared in a statement that this should bring players who long wanted magic to play a mage closer to their fantasy.
New Dungeon
There's also a ruin of the Bygones that has appeared. The Bygones have long been known for their experiments with Rune Magic and find new ways of using it. It seems that they worked on a way to improve warriors with Magic. It's time to search for the ruins and face magically improved warriors. Only by doing so can players discover the secrets hidden there.
Weapons & Magic
A lot of players who decided to go for warriors didn't like the fact that they weren't able to have access to enough spells in the late game to be able to play the kind of warrior they wanted to be. Since a lot of events in Drova rely on the Runestone and the option to get access to that Magic, new spells have been added which are based on weapon types and add magical damage based on the weapon and type of weapon.
Other Changes
Here are some of the other changes made in Drova - Forsaken Kin courtesy of the update:
- Treasure Maps are marked as found.
- Credits are now played slower and can be speeded up by pressing a key.
- Nests of flies have a new animation when not destroyed.
- The laughing animation was reworked and should look better on all NPCs.
- New journal entry which gives a hint on where to find your equipment after getting drunk with Eugen.
- New monsters appear in chapter 2 and 4.
