A new in-game event is ready to set sail in The Elder Scrolls Online. The High Seas of Tamriel event begins September 30 and to end October 14. It introduces a swashbuckling new experience for the mariners of Tamriel as it gives them the chance to plunder the ocean’s depths.
The new event introduces everyone to a special event NPC who is the ghostly scallywag Baron-Captain Olsien Guy-Mard. He can be found just off the coast of Anvil. This spectral captain needs help in recovering his cherished ship the Riotous Redress from the briny deep. Those who can complete this introductory quest can then sail aboard the ancient ship to brave the Abecean Sea.
Once the Baron-Captain’s ship is found to be seaworthy, players unlock a new daily quest that sends them on expeditions above and below the depths. Players can look forward to fighting on the deck of the Riotous Redress which involves traditional combat against both new and dangerous foes. Then there's the added challenge of repairing breaches from incoming cannon fire while also dealing damage of their own with the ship's artillery. Once that's done players can then explore the ocean’s floor where they need to maintain their protective bubble while facing the deep-sea dangers if they hope to survive.
The High Seas of Tamriel event offers a new approach when it comes to the concept of "a daily." The basic outline of the quest is the same every day. However, the battle with the Sea Elf pirates offers different challenges every time as the swashbuckling cultists try their very best to kill players and sink their ship. Meanwhile, the undersea map plays host to a pair of memorable boss fights. , but between the boss arenas though lies a large amount of explorable space. That's because treasures and lore abound across the Abecean Sea floor.
Deep Rewards Available
Of course, it won't be an event without the rewards. There's no shortage of plunder when it comes to this new event in The Elder Scrolls Online. There's the Abecean Sea Privateer outfit style for example which makes its debut as both dropped rewards and wares at the Impresario during the event. Meanwhile, those who complete the intro quest also awards the Ostentatious Pirate Wig and Hat collectible. This way players can look just like their new favorite nautical specter.
In addition, reward boxes can award a new scroll that grants Skill XP for the Excavation and Scrying Skill Lines. Finally, the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug is available in three fragments earned via different event activities as well.
