The Huntress is Ready to Unleash Mayhem in Path of Exile 2

The latest update for Path of Exile 2 is finally here. Dawn of the Hunt introduces the Huntress, a powerful hybrid melee and ranged spear wielder. She's more than ready to unleash mayhem.

This spear wielding Azmeri warrior was born into a society with strict traditions. However, she was exiled from her homeland after using the power of a skill gem to defend her village. As a dexterous spear user, she can dash in and out of battle.

One of the things the Huntress can do is known as "Hit and Run." It allows her to get in and out of combat. What happens is she dashes forwards and then slashes at the weak points of the enemies. After that she jumps backwards and throws spears from afar. Then there's "Savage Counterattacks." With the use of her buckler, the Huntress can parry any attack before following up with deadly counterattacks. This gives her major advantages not only in melee combat but also for ranged combat. Another one is "Primal Fury" where she can harness the ferocity of the wilds. This one allows the Huntress to tame beasts, whip up storms, and throw elemental fury at your enemies.

Tweaks Made

While the introduction of a new class is indeed exciting, it wasn't all smooth sailing. In a post, Grinding Gear Games shared that one of the issues being looked into is that a lot of the power of the Huntress seems to be locked behind the Parry mechanic. This is because some players have expressed their intention not to Parry. The studio did say though that for now there won't be options that don't involve Parrying.

The studio also said that they want to give early game players the choice to get Frenzy charges without the need to Parry. However, they have to be "very careful" and not make this too easy. As a result, a new Skill has been added on the second row of the Spear skills. It’s called as Cull the Weak and is effectively the same as Killing Palm on the Monk, but for Frenzy charges.
