Owlcat Games announced that The Infinite Museion DLC is releasing in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader on June 11. This upcoming DLC invites players into a secret vault curated by none other than Trazyn the Infinite himself. They also get a peek at his fabled collection.
The DLC also has players join forces with Eogunn Februs, an eccentric Genetor Extremis of the Adeptus Mechanicus, on his search for forbidden knowledge. They can also unlock the Sector Bionica, which is a new compartment of the voidship devoted to implants. It's a place where players can augment themselves and their crew for peak combat effectiveness.
Augmentation System
One of the highlights of the DLC are known as Augments. These are a new special class of items that can be obtained across the Koronus Expanse and implanted into the characters. Augments offer three unique effects with the first one being a major positive effect that grants a significant advantage, changes standard gameplay mechanics, or allows the use of new abilities.
The second is an impactful negative effect that works as a counterweight for the positive one and forces players to adapt their tactics around its disadvantage. Third is a tradeoff effect that grants a benefit in exchange for a negative effect. It's worth noting that some implants may not have the third effect.
Once players obtain the augments, they can then be installed through a painful surgery process over in Sector Bionica. Once implanted, an augment can't be removed completely and can only be replaced with a different one. It's also important to remember that not all companions may agree to the augmentation. For example, Cassia simply never allows herself to be touched.
