The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is now available in Early Access on Steam. The game is inspired by Morrowind. As part of the launch, it's currently being offered at 10% off for a limited period.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG that's built around exploration and connection. Players learn the land by walking it as they follow rumors, read scraps of burned history, and meet lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth.
Players follow the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower. That's because somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage and waiting for an audience. As players repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats they fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for the final act.
For those who don't want to descend alone, they don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op. That means players can explore the island together with friends as they delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond.
What Makes it Different
At its core, the game is a RPG. However, it has some features that make it stand out from the rest. For example, the game is open ended. That means a lot of the quests offer multiple resolutions.
Then there is the Amphitheater as the choices made in the game change the world. For players who treat others with kindness and generosity, it results in a trusted friend taking their seat in the audience. Those who make the decision to fail or even abuse them, they'll soon realize that something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
