The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake is now available on Steam. It sees Leonard and his companions return to the Halueseon Continent. Once again they're on an adventure woven from empire, mercenaries, and fate.
The Legend of Fancy Realm was first released in 1998. It combined various features that include tactical strategy, promotion system, character development, branching storylines, and hidden exploration. It told the story of the mercenary Leonard who, along with his companions, became unexpectedly entangled in the turmoil of the Halueseon Continent.
For the remake, it's built on the original world and story. However, this version completely rebuilds the characters, environments, battle interface, and even the in-game presentation. In addition, the controls and selected systems have been refined in order for the game to adapt to modern play habits.
Combat Mechanics
In battle, players need to master the abilities of each character. They'll also need to keep track of skill combinations and position. In addition, in coming up with their strategy players have to take into account not only party composition but also class traits and terrain.
The remake continues to have the classic elements of the original though these have been restrained. This version introduces new side stories, special battles, character outfits, and content. Players can also experience "Warfront Gambit," which was initially introduced in the Steam Demo. That's not all since the remake actually includes the complete 1998 classic version.
Player-Creation Events
In a statement, developer USERJOY Technology revealed that they're planning to roll out a series of player-creation events for The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake. It invites new and veteran players to express their creativity via characters, story, and tactical gameplay.
The studio went on to say that the event is expected to feature multiple forms of participation so that even players without prior modding experience can submit videos to propose campaign content they wish to challenge. Players can also define the stage setting, victory and defeat conditions, enemy formations, special rules, and more.
Future Plans
With the game now officially available, the studio shared that they are working on coming out with additional content. The studio also confirmed that all upcoming DLC expansion content is going to be available for free.
