The Relic: First Guardian Drops for the Nintendo Switch 2 Tomorrow

With the release, players can now play the game on three different platforms.

Project Cloud Games announced that The Relic: First Guardian is launching for the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 9. With this, Switch players finally have the chance to try out this dark fantasy ARPG.

The Relic: First Guardian has players go on a journey and fight through the once peaceful lands of Arsilthus. The mission is to restore the land to its former glory by closing the void. As they travel across the three vast and semi-open environments, they'll need to grow stronger by defeating formidable enemies, collecting relic power, and unearthing near-forgotten stories. This should allow players to hone their skills and master their weapons to take down the toughest foes.

Fast Paced Brutal Combat

One of the interesting features of the game is how it approaches combat. It's able to deliver freedom in attack while having that intensity in survival. Players can release an unstoppable onslaught with attacks that cost zero resources. This lets them strike continuously with relentless creativity and consistency. Meanwhile, the stamina gauge is reserved strictly for high-stakes defense like dodging and blocking. The high-power magic operates on cooldowns and a dedicated meter. Overall, players can attack without limits and defend with absolute precision.

Unbound Build Freedom

Another interesting feature is that the game doesn't have that traditional levelling. Instead, power is forged entirely through the gear and Relics players discover. In addition, collecting and equipping relics isn't just about augmenting the character but also learning more about what happened in the past. There are more than 70 unique passive effects that has been scattered that change combat tempo and skill. This relic system encourages players to experiment endlessly.

Weapons Woven with Narrative

In The Relic: First Guardian, players can choose between five unique weapon masteries for Sword & Shield, Battle Staff, Daggers, Two-Handed Weapons, or the Longsword. There's no single duplicate weapon to be found and each single item is a bespoke and one-of-a-kind creation with its own tragic history. Those who can discover a new blade can uncover a piece of the world's past and with it, transform the arsenal into a personal collection of living legends.

The Relic: First Guardian was released in July 2026 and made available for the PlayStation 5 and the PC via Steam. With this latest release, the game is now available on three platforms.
