The Roads Untraveled Has Opened Up in Scarlet Hollow

The latest update for Scarlet Hollow is finally here. In addition to adding new content, The Roads Untraveled also introduces interesting changes to the game.

The latest update reanimates the current four chapters of the game. In particular, it brings with it an expanded script, courtesy of Abby Howard and Tony Howard-Arias, having more than 70,000 words spread out across four episodes. That means players can experience new stories along with being able to explore new branches of existing stories. Then there's the hundreds of brand new illustrations made possible by award-winning cartoonist Abby Howard.

In a statement, Black Tabby Games co-founder Tony Howard-Arias shared that they're still working on chapter five and whatever comes after that. He added that what they didn't want to do was wait "to make significant changes and improvements" to the game.

That said, this is a good time to buy Scarlet Hollow with the game being offered at 20% on Steam. That's not all since a free demo is also available and contains the first episode. Of course, saved games are automatically transferred after buying the full game.

Survive a Week

The game is set in the sleepy town Scarlet Hollow. It’s a place where coal mines have been sealed off following a deadly collapse. That’s not all since it appears strange creatures have been preying on livestock while houses have become infested with vengeful spirits.

All of these are happening just as you arrive in town. What was originally supposed to be a quiet getaway in the rural mountains of North Carolina has become something else. After all, what you wanted was to simply meet your long-lost cousin Tabitha and help her go through the death of her mother and your aunt, Pearlanne Scarlet. It seems that your aunt was the one who owned the Hollow’s Scarlet Mine.

You’ll need to help Tabitha grieve the death of her mother as she manages the mine and its miscreants. This funeral is sure to have tremendous consequences for the living. By the way, you only need to survive a week. Can you do it and get to the bottom of the horrifying mysteries haunting Scarlet Hollow before they claim your life?
