This September in Fallout 76, adventurers are in for a Fall that's full of fright. That's because the legendary name of the Pint-Sized Slasher is being taken up by a murderous lunatic and his cadre of Slasher fanatics.
"The Slasher" is a frightening experience that unravels over the weeks spanning the Fall updates. For the duration of the event, players need to hunt for clues, dig up unmarked graves, and then fight off fanatics that are infesting the map. Once that's done, there's going to be a confrontation with the "Pint-Sized" imposter himself. Those able to obtain the victory can get the chance to earn a unique Power Armor set along with a new instrument of murder known as the "Super Slasher."
These activities are layered over the top of one another, as an additional layer is unlocked, the intensity builds and builds. "The Slasher" is a first of its kind update for Fallout 76 and arrives September 15.
Gen 9 Boost
In a post, Bethesda Game Studios shared that arriving alongside "The Slasher" is the Gen 9 boost that offers benefits to players on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and older consoles. All console players can look forward to better performance, stability, and visual fidelity. The upgrade also affords the team the opportunity to optimize each platform individually down the road.
Other New Content
Another interesting change coming is that unique weapon crafting is set to make its way to workbenches. This should let players fully unlock their potential with the ability to change Legendary mods on any of the 80+ uniquely named weapons found across the Wasteland.
Finally, Seasons are getting an upgrade. Starting from "Beware of the Blood Moon" and onwards, players can now participate in both a current season and a storied season from the past that they may have missed with Legacy Seasons.
Fallout 76 invites players to explore a vast wasteland, one that’s been devastated by nuclear war. They get to play solo or form a team as they explore, quest, build, and get the win against the greatest threats in the wasteland.
