Grinding Gear Games announced that a new milestone reward has been unlocked for the upcoming full release of Path of Exile 2. This means those who registered can now get their hands on the Soulflame Weapon Effect.
With the second milestone unlocked, it means that one million players have already pre-registered. The first cosmetic effect unlocked was the Soulflame Crown Helmet Attachment. The next rewards are the Soulflame Portal (2 million), Chained Chimera Wings (3 million); and Scourgeborn Boar Pet (4 million).
Those who want to obtain the exclusive rewards can register here. The full release for Patch of Exile 2 is set for December 11.
Path of Exile 2 is an action RPG that features co-op for up to six players. The game takes place in the land of Wraeclast, a dark continent populated by unique cultures, ancient secrets, and monstrous dangers. A sinister threat that was long thought destroyed seems to have started creeping back on the edge of civilization, driving people mad, and sickening the land with Corruption.
Twelve Character Classes
Path of Exile 2 offers twelve character classes, two for every combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. Each of the class variants focuses on a different playstyle with players being able to combine skills from many classes together to create their ideal character build. Each of the twelve character classes has its own three Ascendancy specializations.
Skill Gem System
One feature of the game are the 240 Skill Gems that give devastating active skills along with 200 Support Gems that modify their behavior. It's also possible to combine these together to create that perfect build. That's not all since Support Gems are now socketed directly into Skill Gems and thus remove many of the frustrations present in the old system while at the same time maintain all the previous depth. What this means is that it's now possible to six-link every skill a character uses.
Passive Skill Tree
The iconic Passive Skill Tree for the first title makes return in Path of Exile 2. One big change is Dual Specialization, which is the ability to allocate some of the passive skill points to two different sets of skills. Players can whenever the appropriate weapon or skill type is used. For example, players can have some points allocated to both daggers and traps, or ice and lightning, and as they swap between attacks, the appropriate skill points apply. This should let them specialize in multiple areas without opportunity cost.
