This summer, something is making a splash in ARK: Survival Ascended. Bob’s True Tales: Tides of Fortune is introducing the Tidepup. This curious companion is sure to shake up the dynamics of Genesis 1 as it offers a new kind of support to survival.
Once players encounter it, the Tidepup is something that feels familiar. After all, it's a small companion that doesn't ask for much. This curious creature lingers close and is always watching and quick to respond. It has a habit of showing up when players need it most and surfacing when the tide turns against players to tip the balance back in their favor.
There is something unusual about the Tidepup and it's in the way it grows. Time spent with players shape it and it seems to learn the most in the moments where players are under pressure. It's important to remember that not every Tidepup ends up the same. In addition, not every path forward can be undone because the choices players make and the moments they rely on it leave their mark.
Another thing about the Tidepup is that while others fall, the Tidepup retreats and slips into a dormant state only to return reformed.

Bob’s True Tales: Tides of Fortune is a pirate-themed paid DLC expansion that's releasing in June 2026. In addition to the Tidepup, it's also adding fully customizable ships, new pirate-themed structures, and weapons.
