Season 2 of Foundation: Galactic Frontier is now live. It introduces a wide range of new features, events, storylines and more.
The new season brings with it The Usurper Rebellion. It invites players to enter a new star province called "Sivana." The region is one that's long forgotten by the Empire. It's rich in resources though constantly being affected by magnetic storms. These magnetic storms negatively affect the fleets and combat efficiency of the players.
The region is controlled by an independent regime known as the "Ascendancy Court," which is also the new rival force added to the game. Their ruler is someone who himself the "Ascendancy Emperor." The Ascendancy Emperor serves as the final boss of Season 2.
New Mechanic
With the Usurper Rebellion, the new season sees the addition of a new mechanic which are Magnetic Storms & Resistance. Magnetic storms apply negative effects to players and while affected by magnetic storms, PvE efficiency is reduced. By staying active, players can earn special resources. These same resources can be used to upgrade resistance buildings in the main base. Continued upgrades eventually eliminate the effects of the magnetic storm entirely.
New Guild-based Gameplay
There's also a new guild-based PvE map battle activity which is the "Aromabloom Trade War." It sees commerce guilds discover treasures through clues and analyze them at their station bases. While "The Ascendancy" dispatches fleets to seize the treasures, guild members must defend against these attacks.
Cross-platform Integration
Developer Funplus shared in a statement that it continues to follow its cross-platform strategy. What this means is that Foundation: Galactic Frontier is coming to Steam. Players can now wishlist the platform.
Foundation: Galactic Frontier is inspired by the epic sci-fi universe of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation. This is the same novel that served as the basis of the acclaimed Apple TV+ series!
As the Galactic Empire falls, new factions rise. The fate of humanity is now in the hands of the players. They get to command a starship, explore uncharted space, and dominate this sci-fi saga blending deep strategy with intense action.
