ReCon Team announced that Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates is now available on Steam. The game is a standalone remaster of Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships. It revives a cult-favorite pirate RPG and features modernized controls, a refined interface, and a wide range of quality-of-life improvements while at the same time preserving its open-ended sandbox identity.
The game is set in the 17th-century Caribbean and combines naval combat, land exploration, and strategic global map. It then puts all of these into a single open-world pirate adventure. Players can choose to take on the role of Peter Blood or create their own captain. There's even an option to be a female protagonist. Once that's done, they then get to forge their own path through war, trade, privateering, treasure hunting, and conquest.
Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates has been designed to offer a true sandbox experience. That's because by removing the story timers and forced objectives, it allows players to have the freedom to do various actions. These include serving colonial powers, earning letters of marque, conquering settlements, recruiting companions, building a fleet, and pursuing more than 20 major side quests alongside hundreds of procedural missions. Making this even more exciting is that historical figures and events have been woven into a world that's already filled with native ruins, urban dungeons, buried treasure, and trade routes to exploit.
This remaster was developed using the Caribbean Legend engine and draws on years of community passion and development. In addition to being available on Steam, the game also offers support for Steam Achievements, Steam Workshop, and Steam Cloud.
Supporter Pack
The Supporter Pack is a special collection containing cosmetic and gameplay bonuses. One of these is the exclusive sword Maledictio Liberatoris. It's a blade fit for admirals and kings. This weapon has blued steel, a gilded hilt, and a past shrouded in legend. Then there is the exclusive drink known as the ReConstruction Rum. This is a gift from a secret order of men who reshape the world from the shadows. However, it's said that this is no ordinary spirit and wasn't made to quench thirst but to change fate.
Finally, there's the personal pet which is the Snow-White Parrot. It's something that's a good addition to every captain's cabin needs. This white parrot is full of personality and happy to make it known.
