Kabam announced two new Champions are set to join the fight in Marvel Contest of Champions. Once they're available on the game, they're sure to bring headaches to the heroes.
Brilliant and Megalomaniacal
The first new Champion to arrive in the game is the brilliant and megalomaniacal criminal Ruby Thursday. For those not familiar with this villain, she augmented her head with a mass of organic circuitry and joined forces with the Headmen, a group of megalomaniac villains with unusual heads. Their goal is world domination through a myriad of unorthodox methods.
She joins the Contest on April 9.
The Genetic Engineer
The next Champion is the genetic engineer Lester Verde, also known as Doctor Bong. Verde managed to overcome trials both large and inconvenient to become Doctor Bong. This supervillain is someone without parallel and a supergenius having advanced knowledge of genetic engineering.
Doctor Bong arrives in the game on April 23 and players can acquire him by completing objectives. He can also be obtained through milestone prizes during the 3-month long Double Track event.
Event Quest
The event quest is titled as Bong Voyage, which runs from April 8 to May 3. This one sees Howard the Duck and She-Hulk answering a mysterious call for help from the "Bar With No Name". There are faceless foes, strange stages, and mysterious miscreants awaiting the heroes as the forces of Ruby Thursday and Doctor Bong look to recruit villains.

Marvel Contest of Champions invites players to step into The Battlerealm and experience epic 1v1 combat. It features various Super Heroes and Villains from across the Marvel Universe. The game was first released on mobile platforms through iOS and Android. Then in June 2025, Marvel Contest of Champions was made available for PC and fully optimized for mouse, keyboard, and controller on the big screen.
Players get to take on the role of a Summoner chosen by The Collector. They assemble a powerful team from a roster of more than 300 Champions. Players can engage in fast-paced battles against enemies and players from around the world. They'll have to master intuitive combat mechanics and release special attacks as they fight across cinematic storylines, competitive arenas, and time-limited events.
