It was only a few weeks back when Dragontopia made its way to ARK: Survival Ascended. A new adventure begins as two new dragons make their presence felt.
The first is the Eclipsar Umbra. This legendary obsidian terror was born to claim the night sky. This dragon has been bound to the will of players through what's known as the mythic Dragon Horn. As a shadow-forged executioner, it strikes with terrifying and unpredictable speed. Umbra can rain precision plasma from the cover of darkness or slip through the void itself to ambush unsuspecting prey.
The second one is Lumina, considered as the sun-sworn counterpart of Umbra. It arrives to the game in an attempt to bring back celestial balance. It can scatter brilliant celestial traps to punish pursuers or even bend light itself to vanish in a flash and outmaneuver any threat. When Lumina is pushed to the brink, it erupts into her ultimate sun-flare state. It strips away technological defenses while at the same time allowing Lumina to rise as a blazing sovereign of the clouds.
Dragon Skill Tree
While getting access to new dragons is indeed exciting, the addition of the Dragon Skill Tree ups the ante. This new progression path allows players to forge a deeper bond with their dragons. They can push the limits of the gravity-defying acrobatics, amplify shadow-forged plasma attacks, or customize defensive auras. It lets players shape the ultimate apex predator around their exact playstyle.
Other New Content
Additional dragon-related content include the Drake Claw Grappler, a new tool for high-altitude traversal and midair dragon mounting. This's also the cosmetic set known as the Draconic Armor that lets players look every inch the legendary dragonrider.
In a statement, Studio Wildcard revealed that more dragons are planned to be introduced in the coming weeks and months ahead. It then culminates in a massive skyworld map in December.
The new update is released as part of Dragontopia, a premium expansion pass that introduces players to an aerial ecosystem ruled by dragons. To survive and make their mark in this high-altitude frontier, players need to grow through the Dragon Skill Trees, a progression system built around strengthening the bond with these mythical beasts.
ARK: Survival Ascended offers the ultimate survival experience as it invites players to design their own Survivor, tame dinosaurs, and unravel the true nature of The Island and worlds beyond.
