Nexon announced that a new update is now live in Blue Archive. Titled as "Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam!", it's available on both the Steam version and on mobile platforms. The update features new students as well as a new event story.
The first new student is Sumire (3★, Part-Timer). She's on a Support Role with a Piercing Attack. She deals damage to one enemy and applies the Weakness Detection effect. After that she then deals additional damage proportional to her ATK to affected enemies, up to 240 times. Meanwhile, the second is Rei (3★) and serves as a dealer with a Sonic Attack. She deals damage proportional to her ATK to enemies in a circular area.
Starting August 26, players can join the recruitment event and get an increased chance to acquire the new students mentioned. This event ends September 9.
Story Event
The "Pray-Ball! Swing for the Grand Slam!" has players follow the story of Rei and Sumire (Part-Timer) as they investigate the case involving the Corgi Heroes baseball team and aim for the first victory. After completing each story and quest, players receive event points and special items like "Cheering Balloon."
Event challenges begin August 26. Players can earn 50 Pyroxenes for each completed stage and once they clear the final "EX Stage," are rewarded with 5 Secret Tech Note Fragments. The event ends September 9.

Blue Archive was originally released for mobile and has seen massive success. The Steam version came out in July 2025. The game has ranked consistently as one of the most played anime-style games around the world and has a dedicated global player base. it's set in Kivotos, a massive city with numerous academies. Players take on the role of an advisor to the Federal Investigation Club S.C.H.A.L.E., (aka SCHALE). They'll need to move forward and resolve the endless incidents that happen in the city while at the same time build relationships with charming anime students through RPG Action Strategy and thrilling military action gameplay.
