Developer Broadsword announced that the upcoming update for Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to introduce a new story content which moves the Galactic Threads storyline forward. Game Update 7.8 is titled as "Pursuit of Ruin" and is also adding new Dynamic Encounters.
The new story follows the events of the Desperate Defiance. A decisive blow has been dealt to the Hidden Chain and now tensions are running high after Mandalore Shae Vizla freed Darth Malgus from his prison. Players get to join several allies as they look for answers to Shae's betrayal, Darth Nul's holocron, the Hidden Chain, and of course, the looming threat of Darth Malgus.
New Dynamic Encounters
As mentioned, the new update is bringing to the game new Dynamic Encounters. It's titled as "Wreckage on Dantooine"and focuses on a ship of unknown origin which has crashed into the surface of Dantooine. The damage from the crash has resulted in the systems of the ship to behave rather erratically and now infinitely expanding three of the biomes it was sustaining. The multitude of flora and fauna that has spilled into the local area with the native environment of Dantooine being irreparably changed.
The Crash Site Outpost serves as a new area on Dantooine where level 80 players can travel to and explore. In each area, players can see a number of Dynamic Encounters to complete. As players work through these encounters, they should notice that the respective biomes level up.
The more progress that is made, the faster the biomes level while at the same time unlocking new encounters. Players can earn rewards like armors, decorations, titles, mounts, and minipets, all of which can be obtained through different ways. The pinnacle reward is a new Dantooine Stronghold.
