CampFire Studio announced that Soulmask has officially left Early Access. After 21 months of development and more than 1,800 improvements and upgrades, version 1.0 is finally here.

Soulmask offers an enthralling world that's teeming with a range of realistically depicted creatures. It is up to the players to either rise as the dominant predator or succumb as prey to the formidable wildlife. The game has them adapt, cultivate wisdom, and ascend the food chain or face the brutalities of the jungle.

In a post, the studio shared that version 1.0 isn't simply another update but rather "a complete reinvention of the game." A lot of changes have been made with most of these being shaped by the feedback submitted by players across Early Access.

New Onboarding Experience

One of the new features is the onboarding experience. The game has a new guidance companion in Consciousness X. It steps in the first time players encounter special situations and then offer timely advice. There's also a new in-game Mask Knowledge Base that brings with it the entire encyclopedia of the game directly into the materials, uses, crafting methods, and even where to find them on the map, all in one place.

Tribe Development System

The full version also features the new Training Ground building where talented tribesmen can pass on and inherit their exceptional talents through training. This gives players the chance to shape the perfect clan warrior entirely on their own.

In addition, the new tribe role system implemented solves the old problem of idle tribesmen standing around the bonfire. By giving each tribesman specific duties, they can now actively look for work whenever their assigned stations aren’t busy. Finally, the new global Tribe Management system has players oversee their stockpiles, workstation status, and each tribesman’s current tasks from a true commander’s perspective.

New Game Modes

Version 1.0 introduces players with three unique ways to play. Each one offers a very different kind of experience.

The first one is Survival Mode and it's for those who love the harsh and immersive struggle of classic wilderness survival. It's basically the original Soulmask experience at its core. Second is Tribe Mode and this is for players who want to build up their tribe into a thriving civilization. It has systems like prestige progression, random merchant events, and high-pressure invasion mechanics, that's sure to make each step of the expansion feel dynamic and rewarding.

The third one is Warrior Mode. This mode is for those who just want to grab a weapon and fight. There are stronger enemies, a harsher combat system, and weapons that no longer break for a pure test of offense and defense.
