Developer Shotx Studio and publisher by indie.io announced that the wasteland is finally complete. That's because Version 1.0 of The Dead Await is officially available on Steam. It's priced at $12.99 but is currently being offered at a 35% discount for a limited period.
Version 1.0 of The Dead Await expands the game with the addition of Act III. There is also a lot of new content that includes new settlements, underground facilities, elite enemies, random events, bosses, quests, and explorable regions. The final act in particular pushes players even deeper into the apocalypse than ever before.
Launch Update
A launch update has also been released which introduces major new progression systems to the game. It’s a system that’s been designed to reward long-term survival. Players can also now unlock character skins. They can also complete Z-Tasks in return for permanent rewards. There’s also Z-Coins that players can spend through the Z-Shop. Another feature is the Vault Safe system which lets players store valuables. What makes the system more interesting is that it is shared across save files.
Level Cap Increased
Players should be happy to know that the level cap has increased. This means players can now unlock powerful new builds, weapon mods, equipment, and even expanded progression opportunities.
Fight the Undead
The Dead Await features open-world survival and combines it with caravan management along with strategic deck-building combat. It's set in a brutal zombie apocalypse where each decision can cost lives. Players lead a group of survivors across a collapsing world filled with abandoned cities, desperate factions, hidden bunkers, and relentless undead threats. They'll need to scavenge for resources while at the same time try to hold their fragile caravan together.
Survival in the game though isn't just about fighting zombies. Each expedition becomes a risk-reward calculation as players try to balance hunger, dwindling supplies, sanity, injuries, and of course, the constant threat of losing survivors permanently. The carefully constructed decks shape combat encounters and playstyles, which allow players to experiment with powerful builds, weapon combinations, perks, and tactical synergies.
For those who want to test their survival skills, get The Dead Await on Steam now.
