Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is now available for the PC along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. This sequel to the critically acclaimed turn-based tactical game expands the atmospheric strategy gameplay and rich storytelling.
In celebration of the launch, a new trailer was exclusively revealed during the annual showcase of all things Warhammer.
Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II not only has players fight as the Adeptus Mechanicus against the awakening of a Necron tomb world. They'll also need to go against the Necrons for the resurgence of their dynasty. The game has both sides being fully playable over multiple campaigns.
Strategic Gameplay
The main feature of the game is that strategic gameplay now lies at the forefront of the action. This allows players to choose from an expanded selection of fighters from each of the faction and then manage the garrison of their territories and assemble forces for each mission. There are also new environmental mechanics that need players to maneuver their forces like never before and play to their chosen faction’s strengths and weaknesses.
Game Music
Bringing the setting to life is the awe-inspiring music and audio design made possible by critically acclaimed composer Guillaume David. It also sees the gripping continuation of the Mechanicus saga by veteran author Ben Counter. For the epic conflict, which has been skillfully woven over multiple campaigns, player choices shape not only the course of the war, but its climactic outcome.
Special Edition
A special Omnissiah edition is also available which has the base game along with the digital artbook, the complete original soundtrack, and an in-game legacy soundtrack. The curated digital artbook provides a detailed look at the visual development and feature concept art, character, and environment designs. The soundtrack meanwhile contains 10 original tracks from the game, while the legacy soundtrack DLC integrates music from the original Mechanicus as an optional in-game audio experience.
Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II offers fast-paced tactical combat and combines it with strategic management. It has players take control of either the ancient and deathless Necron legions or the techno-religious acolytes of the Omnissiah. For the PC, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is available on Steam.
